The First Hurdle to enter the Knockout Stage of the Europa League has been passed. Without a convincing performance, Spurs manage to come out winners. Despite the four changes in the team, it showed that last week’s three games took a lot out from our players.

The Greek team was more determined to go out and win the game as they had to in order to progress to the last 32 which is the main reason why the Spurs players struggled to break down their well organized midfield.

Having taken the lead through Adebayor, Spurs failed to capitalize and grab control to kill the game off. After the Greek team had equalized, Spurs struggled to get back into the game. Too many mistakes were being made, with inaccurate passing, and in general loosing possession of the ball which ultimately gave control to the Greek side who then pressed and had a couple of opportunities which they could not finish.

Spurs had some luck for a change and against the run of play scored a second goal and with some good play from Lennon, led to the third goal which did in the end kill off the game and any chances that Panathinaikos may have had of progressing. So we are all looking forward to the Draw on 20th December to find out who will be our next Hurdle. Come on you Spurs!!
