Straight from the department of Fantasy La-la land.  If Harry Redknapp was to remain as Tottenham’s Coach/Manager for the next season and assuming Adebayor won’t drop his current wage claim, which exceeds the highest paid footballer on Spurs’s books by more than double, this would spell the end of his season long loan deal at White Hart Lane.  So, we are left with a serious need for a top class striker who will bang goals in, especially as we will be playing in the Champions’ League.

Chelsea is having a miserable season this year, and finishing in the top four seems to be a struggle for them.  They are also suffering with a lack of quality players, the ones that are there presently, are getting old, except for Fernando Torres.  He was the big money signing from Liverpool that came in to offer goals galore, yet, he hasn’t hit the back of the net in 18 matches.  Rumour has it that when the trading window opens, he will be offered for sale at a very low price, and this is where the fantasy part starts.

We all know that whatever Harry Redknapp touches turns to gold, so, what if, Spurs offered to take Torres on loan for a season, with a considerable wage subsidy from his owners, of course.   What’s in it for Chelsea? Redknapp will waive his magic wand and overnight, Torres will be the free-scoring deadly striker that Chelsea originally thought they bought.  If they maintain the desire to sell him on, he will have a killer CV to up his price and help recoup some, if not all of the huge amount paid for his services to Liverpool just over a year ago.  For Spurs, Harry will replace Adebayor and adopt a newly revitalised, scoring for fun striker, without expense, whilst gaining credit as one of the most charismatic managers, in the world.

Time to wake up!
