Hugo Lloris: 6 – Even a world class goalkeeper can have an off day. Possibly could have done better with the opening goal and  a poor clearance led to their second goal. Still produced a few saves but a rare off evening.

Vlad Chiriches: 5 – Was turned inside out by Eden Hazard. Hurry back Kyle Walker, please.

Federico Fazio: 6 – Stood up well to Drogba for the most part and getting to grips with the Premier League.

Jan Vertonghen: 5 – Did not look comfortable up against Drogba and was turned inside out by Remy. Worrying performance.

Ben Davies: 6 – Was up against the high energy Willian but did nothing wrong.

Ryan Mason: 6 – Hardly surprising that he struggled against Matic and Fabregas but did not disgrace himself. Will be better for coming up against world class opposition.

Nabil Bentaleb: 7.5 – An impressive performance against such illustrious opponents. Safe and assured in possession.

Aaron Lennon: 6 – Faded after a bright start. Impressive ball for Kane’s header against crossbar. Failed to track Hazard for opening goal.

Christian Eriksen: 5.5 – Found wanting tonight.

Erik Lamela: 5.5 – Bar one exquisite ball over the top to Chadli did not produce.

Harry Kane: 7 – Continues to impressive. Brilliant adjustment to get his header which rattled the crossbar. Loved the way he shrugged Cahill off for his second chance. A bright light.
