Eden Hazard, the twenty-one year old Belgian international sensation, currently plying his trade for Lille, has declared his desire to be playing in England next season. He is quoted as saying that the Premier league is very exciting and would suit his style of play. Both Manchester clubs, United and City, Chelsea and Arsenal are interested in signing up the right wing, attacking midfielder, but in the press this morning, and according to the a French website, agreement has already been reached with Tottenham Hotspur FC, although no fee has been agreed and last night, Tottenham Hotspur didn’t make any comments.
Tottenham’s wage structure is lower than even Arsenal, but Eden has pointed out that Spurs are a great English football club with great football players and manager.
Arsene Wenger has for the past year monitoring Hazard, and Mancini is a huge admirer outlining Hazard’s speed and technical skill.
If Tottenham pulls off this coup, it will send out messages to other top players and will shift the power balance onto Spurs.
Eden signed for Lille in 2005 and played in the first team at the age of 16. In 2007 he was the first non-French to win the Young Player of the year, twice. He is very strong, has two great and quick feet, as well as explosive acceleration. Wenger has commented that Hazard has great technical ability and good vision of the game. His style of play has drawn comparisons to Lionel Messi and Christiano Ronaldo.
For all the skill that Eden possesses, if he is too greedy, holding on to the ball for too long and trying to take on all players before scoring, and not passing, he will end up heading in the same direction as Adel Taarabt.
