The Premier League is just like a horse race over the sticks. Each game being similar to the fence the horse has to jump. So far Spurs have passed many fences and failed on a couple. The most recent fence spurs successfully jumped was that of Craven Cottage.
Away to Fulham is no easy task especially when most recently they managed a draw against Chelsea. The deadlock was broken after Sandro’s 35 yard belter with Defoe complementing with a brace of goals. The race continues and the next fence / hurdle is called Everton away, or if you wish Beeches Brook (as in the Grand National). With Everton on 23 points i.e. 3 points behind Spurs and a pack of another 2 teams breathing down our neck, a win at Goodison Park will make all the difference and will give us breathing space.
Although our performance last Saturday was not one of our best, we managed to clinically defeat our opponents. Sandro continues to shine and has proven one of the most valuable assets among the Spurs players. Defoe has all guns firing and we have now managed to keep a clean sheet. All these are encouraging facts. What could be discouraging are the injuries to Bale and Dawson. Bale being such a vital player able to terrorize defences and has been scoring a decent amount of goals. Dawson, who was originally ignored by AVB and has only recently come back in to the fray, will also be a big loss.
If we can show the same eagerness to fight and carve out positive wins then we might be able to jump the next fence / hurdle called Everton.
COYS !!
